На днях в панели управления сайта я заметил, что объем дискового пространства, выделенного хостером под мой сайт, заметно увеличился. Конечно, платить за еще больший размер диска на сервере мне не нужно – сайт не тяжеловесен: только текст, все изображения хранятся на сторонних хостингах.
Внимательно изучив все закоулки и все папки на сервере я понял, что диск занимает что-то другое. Остаётся одно – всё та же база данных.
[warning]Внимание! Перед любой операцией над Базой Данных следует выполнять резервное копирование всей базы данных или только тех таблиц, к которым будут применяться изменения[/warning]
Как и в предыдущем посте, заходим в PhpMyAdmin, идём к нашей базе данных и локализуем виновника торжества. Искать не приходится, пройдясь по таблицам можно заметить, что самой “жирной” таблицей будет wp_posts:
Ясен пень, что такой размер для таблицы, содержащей только текст, неприемлем. Если вы еще не удалили ненужные редакции ваших записей, как это сделал я в предыдущем посте, то рекомендую сначала выполнить это элементарное действие.
Но основанием для уменьшения объема таблицы послужит не удаление редакций, а оптимизация таблицы записей.
Выполняем следующий запрос к нашей базе данных:
OPTIMIZE TABLE wp_posts;
После выполнения запроса сразу будет виден результат:
Результат превзошёл все мои ожидания. Эту операцию следует проводить хотя бы раз в месяц или лучше воспользоваться плагином по регулярной оптимизации базы данных. Думаю, найти его не составит труда в репозиториях wordpress.
